So much love, so little time...

I keep meaning to post pictures on our blog and update our friends and family about our lives...but as you will see, we are busy people. These boys are growing up so fast and I just cannot believe how quickly the time goes by. Christmas is almost here, 2013 is right around the corner, yet there is still so much to be done. I am glad to put everything aside for these boys of ours, I know this time will not last long.

These boys are so cute, I just cant get over how much fun they can be. Granted I need these reminders when Jacob cries the whole way home and Jared is demanding a snack. I look forward to the days when they share a room and play together. Here's to looking to the many years to come!

4 mos old and Laughin' it!

Jacob had his 4 month check up today. He is 26.5" long and 14lbs, 2.5oz. very tall boy! He had his shots today too, so he has been sleeping a lot. But in between his naps today, Daddy was able to get him to laugh...

AND, here are a couple photos from yesterday. These two pictures just make me smile...I hope they do you too!

Have a great week!

Brotherly Love...

Now that Jacob is "talking" more, Jared has started getting a little more interested in him. He says he can't wait for them to share a room and for Jacob to be able to actually play with him. Lets hope that is still the case in a couple of years. Jacob is 4 months old now and he is growing like a weed. Doctor's visit on Monday will reveal how much my "cheeky" baby boy is weighing. Take a look at my boys!

I love these boys so much, I just cannot understand how any parent could ever not absolutely love their children...such a gift from God!

3 months...Gone!

I know from when we had Jared, the time just flies by...but wow it seems to go by so much faster with 2 kids. We love seeing Jacob do new things and we are trying to take a lot of pictures and movies of him, but again, with a busy 2.5 year old and with work, it can prove difficult for us to grab the camera quick enough. But here are several from our weekend. From our 3 month photos of Jacob to a few fun videos:

Jacob is 3 months old..and he is getting soooo big!

They don't know it yet, but this hat/gloves/scarf is what Grandad and Rose got for Jared to wear this winter, he loves it!!!

This week, Jared announced while on our way home that he had "something" in his pocket. Josh told me that when he picked him up, he had a bucket full of acorn shells. So, this is what I found when I went to do the laundry...I have got to start checking his pockets all of the time now. Aaahhh, the life of having boys!
Jacob has started rolling over. Now, in this video Daddy had to help him out, he was a little shy. But normally, he will do it on his own. Love him!

Well, that's all for this week. Lot's of new things to discover!

The Fire Station, and some other fun stuff...

We have a friend that works at our church AND in his "free" time, he also works at his local fire station. SO, with that said, Jared broke his fire hat so bad this passed week, that it could not be fixed. SO, I let him know that we could get a new hat from Mr. Todd, when we saw him, we asked for one and the next day, we had a new hat. As we thanked Mr. Todd, he told us to come and visit sometime. Well, every day since then, Jared has asked if we can go to the fire station "PLEEEEEEEEEase!!!" So, we were able to go today. Not only did Jared get to sit in the trucks and tour the entire station...but he even got to go for a ride in a truck! He had so much fun there, take a look:

Thank you again, Mr. Todd, for taking the time to show me around!

I also must show off our sweet baby, Jacob. He is laughing and cooing now, such a precious boy!

Life with 2...

Well, Jacob has been adjusting to our home for about 2 and a half months, and we have been adjusting to having 2 children in our home. It sounds so strange to say to Josh..."lets get the kids"...kids??? When did we become a family of 4??? It's all still so surreal that we have two children, and that we are responsible for the raising and directing of their paths. WOW, what a responsibility. We love it though, seeing the things that Jared learns and repeats surprises us daily, and Jacob growing and coohing and smiling, just melts my heart! Jacob is sleeping through the night now (HOORAY!), has been for a couple weeks, and he eats a lot. I have new pics to show you, of my precious boys, enjoy...

Aren't they handsome? Just love my boys, I wouldn't trade them for anything!!!

Superman!!!!!!!

Jared received some new pj's from a friend of ours...and he was able to wear them for the first time recently. Take a look at his new found flying abilities!

Baby brother was sleeping soundly during all of this commotion. He is used to the extra noise I suppose.

The Newest Leeke

Well, last week, June 12th, our second son joined us at 10:02pm. Jacob Allan Leeke was 6 lbs, 15 oz, and 20.5" long. He has blonde hair and blue eyes, and looks a lot like his brother did when he was born. Jared has been very kind and patient with his new brother's arrival and invasion of our home. Nan and Pa are here for a few weeks to help out with the things that will be neglected around our home...and Nan is very good at working the 3rd shift. So far, Jacob has been a good sleeper (knock on wood) and is growing just as he should. We are so thankful for a happy and healthy baby boy!!

Jared's Back!

Oh my, what can I say...even with Jared being gone for almost 3 weeks to TN to be with his grandparents, I still didnt find time to get our blog updated. We got busy getting things ready for Jacob while Jared was gone and were able to get a lot accomplished. Jacob's room is ready to go, his pack n play is set up downstairs and his bottles washed. I had a big baby shower with my friends here in Charlotte, and also the ladies at work took me out and gave me a gift from everyone at the office...so many blessings that we have been able to get everything we need for Jacob's arrival. I am so thankful for our "family" that we have here in NC. As you can see by the baby ticker, Jacob is due very soon...and we can't wait to see him in the flesh. Jared has finally even gotten on board with this whole "big brother" thing. Below are a few photos of Jared from his time away and since he has been at home. It is certainly true what they say "Absences makes the heart grow fonder"...I didnt think I could love him any more, but I feel like I do now that he is back at home.

Easter

In reverse order of how the days fell, I am now posting a quick photo of Jared from Easter morning. Jared has had several Egg hunts lately, so we kept the eggs and "hid" them in the house for him to find on Easter morning. He loves his eggs...take a look:
He is so funny....on the day of our Zoo trip, I told him he could pick a toy to take in the car with us, and he said he wanted his eggs and started putting them into his Easter basket to take in the car with us! Too cute!

A Day at the Zoo

Well, today is Easter Monday, and we had planned a trip to the zoo as a family. We traveled to Asheboro to the NC Zoo early this morning. We met our friends, The Spears, and had breakfast and then made our way to the zoo. Jared had a wonderful time, take a look:

As you can see, we had a very full day. We started in Africa, and saw the Elephants, flew a helicopter, checked out the Baboons, touched snakes and frogs (slimey), rode on and drove away from dinosaurs (yikes!!), and we saw several other animals...but you can see those most anywhere in America. Were were there from opening to closing and Jared completely skipped his naptime...he even walked about half of the park! He was so wound up after the big day that he didnt even fall asleep until we were 5 minutes from our house. Poor guy, he was tuckered out. What a great day! We can't wait for our next adventure together.

It's been a while!

So sorry it has been so long since we posted an update on our lives. We have been so busy here in Charlotte...getting Jared's big boy bedroom ready for him, buying Jared some bigger clothes, having a party for our now 2 year old, entertaining visitors, etc. Whew! We now have a moment to relax. Below are several photos of what has been going on the last few months:

Jared had a great Birthday! Unfortunatley he was a little puney with a virus, so when the party was over, he was a pitiful boy. Jared received several great gifts from his family...

The week after Jareds Big day, we had some visitors. Jared was able to enjoy a little March Madness with G-pa, and later on he was able to play and have fun with Pa and his cousin Ethan. Like I said, we have been very busy, but we have enjoyed every minute of our guests!

We are looking forward to our upcoming time off. Spring break will bring the zoo, and some time with daddy at Monkey Joes. And this summer, Jared will be introduced to his brother, Jacob Allan Leeke. We are slowly but surely, getting him used to the idea of having a little brother. I am sure he will be great big brother! Jared can't wait for all of the yummy fresh fruit of summer...just a taste of it has hit the house so far...
